I love children's book festivals, school visits, and book store signings. Basically, anything that puts me in contact with readers, writers, teachers, and librarians is something I love to do. Here's a list of some upcoming events.
Whether you’re brainstorming new ideas, getting to know your characters, trying to conjure a scene, or revising, these meditations will help you build a richer, deeper connection to your characters and your stories. No meditation experience necessary! Each class will include two meditations followed by free writing time and an opportunity to share what you’ve discovered.

Subtext, the true meaning simmering underneath the surface, adds depth and layers of meaning to our scenes. Often what’s missing are the motives, thoughts, emotions, and human truths that resonate with multiple meanings. We’ll look at the many ways to use subtext in theme, setting, characterization, dialogue, and symbols to add meaning beneath the words.
